What a fun gift to give an expectant mom, before or after the baby arrives. Children love photos and will often look at photos over and over, especially the ones of themselves as a baby.
The Take Your Pix photo board books have easy-to-turn pages but also cut-outs to make it even easier for little hands. The book is the perfect size, sturdy and very high quality and will last through the many, many times a child will flip pages – it’s even easy to clean for the child who is inspired to show grandpa photos in the middle of eating a peanut butter sandwich.
The photo album is 7" x 7" with 10 pages. It holds 20 4" x 6" photos. The cover photo frame holds a slightly smaller photo but you just need to trim a 4x6 to fit.
The book would make a great gift alone but for those who are creative it can easily be personalized like a scrapbook.
One suggestion which would make a fantastic baby shower gift is to purchase several albums and decorate them but leave the photos for mom to add throughout the year. Each album could mark a special milestone or collection like "First Christmas", "Me and my Dad", "I love my Nana and Papa", "First Trip to the Beach" etc. Often moms are overwhelmed with taking care of the baby the first year and although many pictures are taken, few actually make it into albums. This would be a wonderful gift -- pre-organized, decorated and a wonderful collection of memories.
Here are a few other ideas that we thought of:
• If you are giving a gift after baby arrives fill it with the photos from the first few days after the baby was born – there are few photos as innocent and wonderful as a newborn and this is a perfect keepsake for mom that is sure to be cherished.
• If you want to give the book as a gift for baby it can easily be decorated with family photos; mom, dad, big sister, aunts and uncles or filled with photos of items around the house: bath, bottle, toys, teddy, doggy, blanket etc.
I am really impressed with the quality of these books. I can easily say this is one of the most child-friendly and fun photo books I have seen. I would happily recommend the Take Your Pix Photo Board Books as a great baby shower gift.
